Rob Bell Lied

Surprised? One of the things I have insisted on is the dishonesty inherent in the very idea of the Emergent.

Think about it, they call themselves a church, but invade other churches and denominations. They call themselves Christians, but deny the confessions of the faith. They call themselves "missional", but deny the reality of hell and the need for a personal savior. They claim to love, but never call sinners to repent.

I could continue, but let's stop with this latest example. Rob Bell has claimed that it was just remarkable how God grew his church at Mars Hill. However, Ken Silva has revealed the truth on that one. Read it here.

Lambert,
Thanks for taking the time to write and the time to consider this subject.

The Emergent is a mixture of Christianity and postmodernism. It is often sold under the guise of making the gospel culturally relevant to postmoderns.

Postmodernism is the general belief that there is no absolute truth. This is counter to Scritpure. In fact, Emergents are losing the debate on the nature of truth in the church so badly and so often that, to maintain some semblance of coherence, they have begun retreating from that position. Brian McLaren recently said that absolute truth exists, but we cannot be certain of it. To which I ask, "Is Brian really certain that we cannot be certain?"

To read more on that go to this link and read what John MacArthur says about the Emergent: http://www.sfpulpit.com/category/emerging-church/ .

As to Miller, he is a heretic who denies that we must believe the gospel or anything else for that matter. For that go to this article: http://zitsemerge.blogspot.com/2006/11/donald-miller-on-heresy.html
or this article: http://zitsemerge.blogspot.com/2006/11/donald-miller-line-by-lie.html

Both articles deal with Miller's assertion that we need not believe anything. READ MACARTHUR! He really puts a lot of stuff in the right light to understand exactly where these fellows are going.

In Christ,
Phil Perkins.
